Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce O3 generating cost by desorbing impurities adsorbed on an adsorbent in an adsorption-desorption unit with ozonized oxygen introduced from an ozonizer in place of dry air produced in other system to save electric power for producing the air.
CONSTITUTION: Raw O2 supplied to ozonizer 1 is ozonized. Part of the ozonized oxygen is fed to adsorption-desorption unit 5-1 through change-over valve 6-3 and further fed to reaction vessel 4 through change-over valve 6-1 to oxidize reactant in vessel 4. At the same time, the O3 is reduced to O2 with a weight 2/3 time as heavy as O3. The reduced O2 and unreacted O2 are fed to adsorption-desorption unit 5-2 from the top of vessel 4 through change-over valve 6-6 to adsorption remove impurities in the O2 with an adsorbent in unit 5-2. When this adsorbent well adsorbed the impurities, change-over valves 6-1, 6-3, 6-6, 6-8 are closed and change-over valves 6-2, 6-4, 6-5, 6-7 are opened to introduce the ozonized oxygen into unit 5-2 from ozonizer 1, whereby the impurities are desorbed, returned to vessel 4, and discharged from the system together with the reactant in vessel 4 to regenerate the adsorbent.
