Abstract

PURPOSE:To impart a superior grained surface and to enhance water retentivity, ink receptivity, etc., by adding finely divided particles, a kind of hydrophilic polymer compound having sulfonic acid or acid salt groups, and gelatin. CONSTITUTION:In the lithographic plate where a silver image area or a silver halide image area formed by the photographic process is used as an ink receptive material, finely divided particles of 2-10mu particle diameter, such as titanium oxide, zinc oxide, or silica are added to at least one layer of the printing plate constituent layers to form a superior grained surface. At the same time, at least one kind of hydrophilic polymer compound having repeating units represented by formula (1), (2), or (3), and gelatin are added by 0.01-3pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. of gelatin to keep the dispersion of the particles stable, thus permitting the particles up to about 100wt% to be stably kept.
