Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform high speed development excellently, by specifying the constitution of developing magnetic pole.
CONSTITUTION: A developing magnetic pole 4 of a cylindrical magnet 1 constituting a sleeve rotation type magnetic roll together with nonmagnetic sleeve 2 is constituted by disposing alternately N-pole and S-pole divided parallel to the axial direction. By so constituting, a toner 8 is attracted and conveyed on the surface of the rotating nonmagnetic sleeve 2, and is defined to a specified amount by means of a doctor blade 6. When developing the electrostatic latent image on a latent image carrier 3, the direction of the magnetic field acting on the toner 8 in the developing region changes alternately along with the movement of the toner 8 to cause the toner chain to spin. At the same time, by properly demagnetizing the developed toner 8, the bonding power of toner 8 is weakened. Therefore, depositing of the toner 8 may be prevented, so that blurring and tailing in development may be avoided, thus making it possible to obtain an image of high dignity.
