Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent optical fatigue of photoreceptor and enable repeated use for a long period, by radiating the electrophotographic receptor having a photosensitive layer of arsenic-selenium compound with light of which wavelength is less than 6000Å, and applying corona discharge for destaticization before this radiation.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a photosensitive drum 1 having As-Se photosensitive layer containing As by a relatively large amount (30W40wt%) is uniformly charged by means of a charging part 2, and an electrostatic latent image is formed with image exposure 3. After developing in a developing part 4 and transferring on paper in a transfer part 5, the photoreceptor 1 is cleaned in a cleaning part 6. Then, the optical fatigue is removed in an optical fatigue preventive device 7'. In this removal, the photoreceptor 1 is destaticized by means of destaticizing corona discharger 10, then the light from a light source 8 is passed through a filter 9 to radiate the regional light of less than 6000Å. Thus, by preventing optical fatigue of the photosensitive layer, clear copy images may be obtained if used repeatedly.
