Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of a beat without deteriorating spurious characteristics by providing a limiter element such as a diode limiting the amplitude of a local oscillation output in parallel to a tank circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Monolithic IC1 includes a circuit constituting an AM tuner circuit. The AM tuner circuit is provided with a couple of differential transistors TrQ3 and TrQ4, and tank circuit (capacitors C0∼C2 and coil M1) connecting via external pin P11 to the collector one TrQ3 of the differential amplifier circuit provided to the common emitter. Then, the collector output of TrQ3 is voltage-divided by resistances R1 and R2 and applied to the base of TrQ4 by way of an emitter-follower output circuit (Trs Q7 and Q8, and resistance R5), forming a positive feedback loop. Thus, a local oscillation circuit is constituted. To limit its output amplitude, TrQ6 connected a diode in parallel with the tank circuit is provided with a collector of TrQ3.
