Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify manufacture by composing a four-stable-point phase detector, used for phase control over a needed regenerated carrier, of a digital element when carrying the synchronous detection of a four-phase modulated wave into effect. CONSTITUTION:An input signal with four phase changes is applied from input terminal 106 and two output signal differing in phase by 90 degrees are supplied from oscillator 19 composed of oscillation circuit 17 and pi/2 phase shift circuit; and they are processed by exclusive-OR circuits 1 and 2, decision circuits 11 and 12, exclusive-OR circuits 3, 6 and 7, and NAND circuits 8-10 and an output from output terminal 101 is supplied to a low-pass filter to extract its low-frequency component. This low-frequency component has phase detection characteristics crossing lateral axis thetae four times at a positive gradient within 2pi radians needed for carrier phase control over a four-phase modulated wave.
