Abstract
PURPOSE: To control the extrusion pressure, and to remove the irregularity of sectional area of the extruded product, by installing a hole between the die of the stationary shoe block which composes titled extruder together with the moving wheel, and the feed side of the feed stock (material) carriage way.
CONSTITUTION: The stationary shoe block 3 contacts with the periphery of the moving wheel 1 and the side planes of the groove 2 formed in the wheel 1, and formes the material carriage way 5 together with the groove 2 and the pad 6. The inner plane of this carriage way 5 consists of the groove 2 and the surface of the block 3 at the part just facing to the groove 2, and the surface area of the groove 2 is specified to be smaller than that of the block 3; hereby, the material 4 is extruded from the die 7 due to the contact friction resistance generated by the rotation of the wheel 1. If the contact condition changes at the primary grip zone for perfectly filling the material 4 in the groove 2, the length l of the extrusion grip zone also changes, and the extrusion pressure changes, too. A hole 8 is installed so as to open the mouth at the carriage way 5, at the position of distance l0 before the die 7 in the block 3, where the pressure becomes the specified value; by releasing a part of material through this hole 8, the pressure is always kept constant because it is fixed according to the distance l0.
