Abstract
PURPOSE: To detect drop-out easily and surely by detecting that the ratio of a delayed signal to a reproduced original signal becomes a prescribed value or less and this state continues for a prescribed time or more.
CONSTITUTION: The ratio of an original signal, which passes through BPF 10, envelope circuit 11, and delay circuit 12 of the delay time characteristic of a time required for recording and reproducing, to a reproduced signal which passes through BPF 7 and envelope circuit 8 is calculated by division calculator 9, and circuit 9 generates a constant output as long as dropout is not generated. The detection output from level comparator circuit 13 is decided by time decision circuit 14 provided with an integrator circuit, etc., when the output of circuit 9 is lowered due to occurrence of drop-out, and a drop-out decision output is generated from circuit 14 when the lowered detection output from circuit 13 continues for a prescribed time or more, so that drop-out can be detected easily and surely.
