Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an internal combustion engine which comprises a circular cylinder, rotor, rotor arms, etc. and is designed to produce driving force only through rotational motion of the said rotor. CONSTITUTION:Rotor 4 shaped in a regular triangle is disposed eccentrically in cylinder 2. In a hollow space in rotor 4, there are provided rotor arms 6 which extend from shaft 19 located at the center of cylinder 2 to the surface of cylinder wall. Shortly after one of rotor arms passes through a primary and a secondary intake and exhaust ports 3, 1, these intake and exhaust ports 3, 1 are opened respectively to draw mixture into cylinder 2. On the other hand, when the rotor arm 6 comes near to the primary and the secondary intake and exhaust ports 3, 1, these ports are closed and suction and exhaust strokes are terminated. In the above arrangement, driving power is produced by rotor 4 and rotor arms 6 which rotate smoothly around one point respectively, so that an internal combustion engine having a high a high efficiency can be obtained.
