Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a multi-color patterned metal plate having a three-dimensional appearance by the procedure in which the surface of a metal plate with an undercoat is coated with an intermediate coat paint of a high-viscous vinyl resin sol in an uneven film state by a roller coating, and then with a finishing coat paint having a color different from the intrmediate coat paint only on the convexed film portions.
CONSTITUTION: The metal plate 1 is coated with a primer as the undercoat paint 2 and dried by heating, then coated with the intrmediate coat paint 3 of a high- viscous PVC or VC copolymer organo sol or plastisol in an uneven film state by a natural roll coating and melted to form a striped pattern paint film, and lastly coated with the finishing coat paint 4 of an organo sol or plastisol, having a color different from the intermediate coat paint 3, only for the convexed film portions of the intermediate coat 3 by a roll coating and melted by heating.
