Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent exposed portions from falling off a toothed belt which is composed of tensile member wound round a toothed pulley forming mold and rubbery elastic base material for burying the member, by pasting the exposed portions on both sides of the belt.
CONSTITUTION: A tensile member 2 made of twisted rope is spirally wound round a cylindrical mold 1 for forming a toothed pulley and buried in rubbery base material 3, then the form is cut into round slices with a preset width to get toothed belts. The tensile member 2a exposed through cutting on both sides of the belt is pasted with an adhesive 4 or the exposed sides are entirely pasted with the adhesive 4. Since this simple treatment binds fibers of the tensile member 2a exposed on the cutting sides and makes the member 2a pasted to the rubbery body of the belt, the tensile member 2a does not fall of the belt.
