Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the outer diameter of a valve shaft without sacrificing its strength, by setting a bearing, which also serves as a packing gland of a seal water box, outside the seal water box set to a portion through which the valve shaft penetrates a valve drum to the side of a servo motor.
CONSTITUTION: The valve body 1 of a butterfly valve is fitted to a valve shaft 3 penetrating a valve drum 2 and the valve shaft 3 is held by bearings 4, 5 which come in touch with both ends of the valve body 1. One end of the valve shaft 3 pnetrates a seal water box 6 and an arm 9 fixed to the shaft's upper end is connected with a servo mator 10. A bearing 1 which also serves as a packing gland is set to the shift, forming a clearance 12 between the bearing's fitting flange 11a and the seal water box 6. A fitting bolt 13 set to the falnge 11a fastens a packing 7 in the seal water box 6, while a jack bolt 14 also set to the flange 11a works to separate the valve shaft 11 from the seal water box 6.
