Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce pullulan-contg. shaped article having improved humidity resistance, water resistance, toughness, flexibility, etc. and no variation with time by shaping pullulan-contg. shellac.
CONSTITUTION: Pullulan is mixed with shellac in such a proportion at to give a dry weight ratio of pullulans to shellac of from 1:1000 to 1000:1. In necessary, a plasticizer, an extender, an antibacterial agent, nutrient substance, etc. are added. The resulting mixt. is shaped to the desired form. Alternatively, pullualn shaped article is coated with shellac.
