Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent damage on guide plates or the like by specifying the method of orientation of air introduction holes formed in the furnace wall.
CONSTITUTION: In the furnace wall 7 of a main body 3 forming a combustion chamber 2, plural combustion-air introduction holes 25 are arranged in roughly tangential direction as regards the circumference of a rotary furnace bed 4, with their portions on the side of the combustion chamber 2 directed upward. When combustion gas is discharged into a flue 8 while swirling spirally in the chamber 2, matter to be incinerated fed onto the furnace bed 4 by a feeder 24 experiences deficiency of oxygen and is prevented from over-burning, so that thermal damage on guide plates 11 and supporter 10 of a waste guide device 5 is prevented. A similar effect may be obtained by a method wherein water spray nozzles 12 are arranged in or near the holes 25 and water is sprayed to the most vigorous combustion zone of incinerated matter on the furnace bed 4.
