Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the electrostatic capacity between signal applying electrodes and electrostatic recording medium and reduce the uneven recording owing to hysteresis phenomenon by dividing the signal applying electrodes to which image signal voltage is applied to a plurality and arraying the same. CONSTITUTION:Selecting electrodes 11.1, 11.2... are subsequently scanned by the scanning signal formed by pulse trains and the recording corresponding to the picture signals is accomplished on the electrostatic recording medium 3 which is moving while making contact with the electrodes 11.1..., 21... by way of a retaining roller 4 according to the image signal pulses being applied to the picture signal electrodes 21, 22, 23... which are divided to a plurality. The electrodes 21, 22... are made to respectively small areas by this division constitution of the signal electrodes 21, 22... and when the picture signals are applied only to the electrodes 21, 22... opposing to the electrodes 11.1, 11.2... selected via switching circuit, then the electrostatic capacity between the electrodes 21, 22... and recording medium 3 becomes small. As a result of this, the uneven recording densities according to hysteresis phenomenon by electrostatic capacity may be reduced.
