Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the stable electrostatic recording through non-contacting by specifically disposing the recording styli whose outside circumferences are insulation- coated, resistance electrode, split control electrodes etc. thereby forming an electrostatic recording head. CONSTITUTION:The recording stylus electrodes 5... provided with an insulation coating 6 of 100mum or less in thickness are arrayed in one row and split control electrodes 8... are opposedly disposed to a resistance electrode 7, by which an electrostatic recording head 10 is constituted. The stylus electrodes 5... are group- controlled alternately for each 5 pieces or the like and the half the width of the electrodes 8... is corresponded to each group. If the recording pulse voltage VN to be applied to these stylus electrodes 5..., the bias voltage VB to the electrode 7 and the control voltage VS of the electrodes 8 are so set as to satisfy the conditions of formulas I, II, the discharge is accomplished surely by only the electrodes 5 to which the voltage VS is applied, whereby the stable electrostatic recording through non-contacting is accomplished. (Vth1 is the discharge start voltage of the minute spacing between the electrodes 5, 7, vd, vr are respectively the changed potentials of the conductive layer 12 of electrostatic recording paper 14 and the electrode 7 when the voltage VS is applied.)
