Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a blade cleaning device which obviates leakage of developer from the blade end part by providing a magnetic field generating means near at least one of the end part of the cleaning means.
CONSTITUTION: A magnet 3 is disposed to at least one end part or very close to the same of the cleaning blade 2 counter-disposed in the axial direction of a photosensitive drum 1. This magnet 3 may be buried in the cleaning blade 2 or affixed thereto. To affix the magnet 3, there is need for making the magnet 3 non-contactual with the drum 1. The movement of the developer to the end part of the blade 2 and its leakage from the end part thereof may be prevented by the magnetic field formed by this magnet 3. Further, a rotary cylindrical magnet 4 having plural magnetic poles is provided to recover the deposited magnetic developer having been magnetically captured by the magnet 3. This developer may be scraped off by a scraper 5 and recovered into a recovery box.
