Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize the concomitant angle without complicating the structure by detecting the relative revolving angle to the magnet, turning the compass tray in such direction as to negate the revolving angle and then knowing the azimuth change from the revolving angle of the compass tray.
CONSTITUTION: Support frame 2A and 2B form the gimbal mechanism, and compass tray 1 is kept horizontal by this gimbal mechanism. At the same time, frame 2B is supported rotatably by support leg 4 via shaft 3. Magnetic detection coil 8 is fixed to the external bottom part of tray 1 to secure a magnetic connection to magnet 7 and then to perform the magnetic detection. The output of coil 8 is led to cable 9, axle 1A and 1B, and furthermore to frame 2B and then to the magnetic detection control part comprising the magnetic detection circuit, servomotor 12 synchronous oscillator 13 via the hollow part of shaft 3.
