Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of an airtightness maintaining device and easily maintain the airtightness between a casing and a rotor, by building the device so that it comes into contact with the peripheral surface of the cylindrical rotor provided on the inside of the casing. CONSTITUTION:Airtightness maintaining units are provided in such positions on the inside surfaces of casings 11, 41 that the units come into contact with the peripheral surfaces of rotors 12, 42. The units comprise airtightness maintaining members 32 having contact side faces 30 to come into contact with the peripheral surfaces of the rotors 12, 42, and support means 33 for moving the members 32 back and forth relatively to the rotors. The contact faces 30 are shaped as an arc of the same radius as the rotors 12, 42. Two vertical oil grooves 31 are provided on each of the contact faces 30. The support means 33 have springs 35 inserted into spring support holes 34 provided in the casings 11, 41. The airtightness maintaining members 32 are pushed out toward the rotors 11, 41 by the elastic forces of the springs 35.
