Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the press workability of a steel plate used in the auto industry by hot rolling a steel with a low N content, a specified relation between B and N contents, a specified Al content, etc. followed by cold rolling and recrystallization annealing. CONSTITUTION:A steel consisting of, by wt., C 0.002-0.10%, N<=0.0035%, acid sol. Al 0.001-0.010%, B<=0.0025%, P<=0.1%, S<=0.03%, Si<=0.03%, Mn<=1.0%, and the balance Fe and inevitable impurities and satisfying (B%)-11/14(N%)<= 0.0005% and Mn/S>=7 is hot rolled by low temp. heating, cold rolled, and subjected to recrystallization annealing. By restricting the N content of the compsn. and combinedly adding an adequate amt. of Al and B the contents of AlN, BN, sol. Al and sol. N in the resulting steel plate are regulated to optimum ranges, so the plate shows superior values in yield strength, tensile strength, total elongation, Erichsen test, etc.
