Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide superior oxidation resistance to a ferritic stainless steel even at high temps. by composing the steel of respectively specified amts. of C, Si, Mn, Cr, N, Ta and Hf, and the balance Fe and inevitable impurities.
CONSTITUTION: A Cr type ferritic stainless steel is composed of C≤0.1%, Si≤2%, Mn≤1.5%, Cr 10W20%, N≤0.03%, Ta and/or Hf optionally in combination with one or more out of Ti, Nb and Zr 0.1W2% in total, and the balance Fe and inevitable impurities. This steel has superior oxidation resistance even at such high temps. as 800W1000°C and is used as a material for various kinds of heat exchangers, heaters, car exhaust gas converters, etc.
