Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the hatchability, and to maintain the health of a day-old chick, by supplying an iron salt molded into granules, crumbles or pellets to domestic fowl continuously.
CONSTITUTION: An iron salt, e.g. ferrous fumarate, iron sulfate, iron glucuronate, dextranate, succinate, or gluconate is used for the title agent. For example, ferrous fumarate and iron sulfate are molded into pellets with sodium carboxylmethyl cellulose (CMC) as a binder. The resulting product is used for continuous supply by selective free intake.
