Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent active material from dropping out in cutting plates by pressing the active material and core at intervals corresponding to a desired width of plate and then cutting the plate along the center line of pressed portion before drying the active material applied on the plate. CONSTITUTION:Paste-like active material 6 is continuously applied and filled on a strip of continuously formed metal lath plate or expanded lath plate 1. Next, the metal lath plate 1 filled with the paste-like active material 6 is pressed at intervals corresponding to a desired width of plate under undried condition of the paste- like active material to form pressed portions 8. Then the plate filled with paste is dried after the press and out along the center line of the pressed portion 8. Further in said press the pressure at the pressed portion 8 is preferably 1.2-1.6 times that at unpressed portion, converted from the density of filled paste.
