Abstract
PURPOSE:To form the thick epsilon-Fe3N phase on the surface of the material to be treated in a short time, by carrying out gas soft nitriding treatment of the material to be treated bringing down the temperature in a fixed extent in the heating furnace. CONSTITUTION:Atmosphere gas using for nitriding treatment, is introduced in the heating room 3 carrying out soldering, the slow cooling room 4 and the gas soft nitriding treating room 5. The work W is carried in the room 4 and the temperature is brought down until 700 deg.C cooling by the fan 8 etc. after carrying out soldering treatment of the work W in the room 3. Next, the above work is carried in the room 5 and ammonia gas is added from the duct 9 and then, the gas soft nitriding treatment is carried out bringing down the temperature to 700-750 deg.C continuously. By the above treatment, nitriding treated layer mainly composed of epsilon phase, is formed on the material to be treated lastly. By the above method, both soldering and gas soft nitriding treatment, are able to carry out continuously and heat energy is able to utilize availably.
