Abstract

PURPOSE: A hollow fiber usable for hemodialysis free from huge voids, obtained by spinning a solution comprising a cellulose ester, acetone, urea (derivative), water and a pyrrolidone derivative.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Acetone, (B) pyrrolidone or its derivative, (C) water, and (D) urea or its derivative at the following ratios: 0.5≤A/B≤10 and 0.5≤D/C≤1.0 are added to a cellulose ester (E) to give the total amount of (C) and (D) of 4W 20wt% based on the composition (in the E concentration of preferably 15W35wt%). The solution is then subjected to dry-jet wet or solution spinning with a monoterpene as a core liquid to form the objective hollow fiber.
EFFECT: Well-balanced waste material removal.
