Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform remote control of the character data and to input it to the information processing unit, by using the mosaic letters familiar with usage and by usual facsimile transmission and receiver, without using expensive character recognition unit.

CONSTITUTION: The transmission paper 41 printing a number of pairs of character position mark 42 and character shape mark 43, and mosaic letters corresponding to the numeral data to be transmitted are described in them, they are transmitted to a remote location through the communication line 31 via the facsimile transmitter. This is demodulated with the facsimile interface circuit 32 of the facsimile receiver to reproduce into the video signal every scanning. Further, the mark 42 is detected at the character position mark detection circuit 33, and the part of the next mark 43 is scanned by taking this mark as reference, and the video information of specific area including the mosaic letters is sequentially read out, and stored in the character shape mark address memory 34, the presence of the line is judged by the line information detection circuit 35, it is stored in the mosaic character memory 36, and the mosaic letters are judged at the character data recognition circuit 37.
