Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve error characteristics of data by removing short-period amplitude variation of a reproduced signal from a disk by providing an integrating circuit with fixed characteristics and a modulation circuit to the next stage of an AGC amplifier.
CONSTITUTION: A signal from head 11 includes long and short period amplitude variations and the long period amplitude variation is removed by amplifier 1 and filter/AGC circuit 2. Then, the output of circuit 2 has its envelope detected by integrating circuits 4 and 6 and both detection outputs modulate 7 and 8 corresponding delay signals of the opposite polarities. Each modulation output is supplied to differential amplifier 9 to generate an output of flat differential signal wavefrom, which is supplied to data reproducing circuit 10 as a signal with no short-period amplitude variation.
