Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I (R1 is hydroxyl-substituted phenyl or others, lower alkyl-substituted furyl; R2 is H, acyl; Z is 1W3C alkylene) and their salts.
EXAMPLE: ( 4R )-2-( 2-Hydroxyphenyl )-3-( 2-mercaptoacetyl )-4-thiazolidine-carboxylic acid.
USE: Hypotensor.
PREPARATION: For example, the reaction between a compound of formula II (R3 is acetyl, pivaloyl, benzoyl, benzyl; X is halogen) and a compound of formula III is effected through the Schotten-Baumann process to form the compound of formula IV (R4 is residue of R2 from which hydrogen is removed).
