EXAMPLE:alpha-(3-Benzoyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2-methylindol-1-yl)propionic acid. USE:A blood platelet aggregation inhibitor usable for preventing infarct of heart blood vessel systems and post-operative thrombosis, and cerebral ischemic onset in patients with geriatric diseases. PROCESS:An indole derivative of formula II (R' is 1-4C lower alkyl group) is condensed with an anhydride or halide of a carboxylic acid of the formula phi-COOH in the presence of an acid catalyst, e.g. a Lewis acid or hydriodic acid, to give the compound of formula I.
