PURPOSE:To detect fault of an air cushion mechanism for a wide range of fluctuation in power voltage, by making the threshold voltage variable in proportion to the power voltage. CONSTITUTION:When a working element of an air cushion actuator 7 is disconnected, the cathode voltage of diode array 9 is earthed, the output of a comparator 42 is inverted and the output of a comparator 41 is raised high to generate a fault signal. If this fault is continuous, a transistor 18 is on to turn on a lamp 17. If the normal state is restored immediately after the signal is generated, the lamp 17 is turn off. When the service voltage to the comparators 40-43 is given from a power line 80, the threshold voltage changes in proportion to the change in power voltage, which can detect the fault without regard to the change of power voltage.
