Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a flame-retardant resin composition having remarkably improved melt stability, by compounding a thermoplastic polyester with a polycarbonate and epoxy resin prepared from a specific brominated bisphenol, a Vb group metal compound and a phosphorus compound.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A thermoplastic polyester is melt-mixed with (B) a powdery polycarbonate having the carbonate unit I (R1 and R2 are H, 1W5C alkyl, etc.; l and m are 1W4; n ≥ 16), (c) a brominated bisphenol A-type epoxy compound II (a, b, c and d are 0 or 1W4; a+b+c+d>1; K is 0 or 1W20), (D) a Vb group metal compound (pref. antimony trioxide) and (E) a phosphorus compound, wherein the amount of (B) is 1W50 parts by weight on the basis of 100 parts by weight of (A),(B):(C)=1:0.001W1:5, (B)+(C):(D)(metal content)=0.25:1W5: 1 and (C):(E)=1:0.01W1:10 by weight, respectively.
