Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a concentrated polyurethane solution having low and stable viscosity, by dissolving a solid polyurethane in a polar organic solvent containing an aldehyde and/or a basic compound.
CONSTITUTION: An aldehyde (e.g. chloroacetaldehyde) and/or a basic compound (pref. having pKa of ≥ 9.0 in an organic solvent, e.g. sec-amine) are added in an arbitrary order to a polar organic solvent, and a solid polyurethane is dissolved in the solvent. A metal salt (e.g. alkali metal salt) or an ammonium salt is pref. added to the solution.
