Abstract

PURPOSE: To speed up the collation of core wires, by sequentially bringing a probe into contact with the collated core wires on an upper side in laying a telephone cable or the like and by detecting on a lower side finding out that a core wire in contact with an edged electrode corresponding to a lighted-on lamp is the core wire with which the probe is brought into contact.
CONSTITUTION: A series circuit comprising a power source 21 and a probe 22 is providd on the upper side of a cable 11 made of collated core wires 111W11n. The cathode of the power source 21 is coupled to the upper end of a order-wire circuit 11a. The probe 22 is selectively brought into contact with the collated core wires 111W11n. The lower ends of the core wires of th cable 11 are taken in by a means 30 so that the lower ends are brought into contact with the edges of edged electrodes 241W24n. A part of each of the edged electrodes 241W24n is connected to one terminal of each of lamps 251W25n. The other terminals of the lamps are coupled together to the lower end of the order-wire circuit 11a.
