Abstract

PURPOSE:To recognize incoming visually by displaying characters or symbols on a dial number display unit simultaneously with a ringing tone when a received signal from a base-station side switchboard in a motorcar telephone system is recognized by CPU. CONSTITUTION:When an incoming signal arrives from a base-station side switchboard, it is received by receiver 11 and converted into a sequence of data by data conversion part 9, and the data are processed by CPU1 via I/O port 2-2; when it is recognized to be an incoming signal, ringing oscillator 16 is controlled by an instruction from CPU1 to generate a ringing tone, which is amplified 15 and outputted to speaker 14. Simultaneously, a character showing that the incoming has arrived from CPU1 is passed through I/O port 2-1 to output segment data, which is displayed by display units 7-1-7-9 via display driver 5. If a user is absent in incoming, the display remains as it is even in cace of the break of the ringing tone, thereby announcing the call. This system requires no incoming-only display unit, so that economization and miniaturization can be realized.
