Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve control performance by selecting the output of an adder and storing the output of a switching circuit into a micro instruction address register circuit when the branch condition is false.
CONSTITUTION: In the microprogram control unit in an information processing unit, output (a) of micro instruction address register 1 is supplied to control memory 2 and the A input of adder 5. Output (b) read from memory 2 according to designation of output (a) is decoded by 3, and the output is sent to operation control part 4. Here, branch formation signal (d) controls switching circuit 6; and if the condition is true, branch destination address (e) is selected from control part 4; and if the condition is false, output (f) of adder 5 is selected, and output (g) of circuit 6 is stored in register 1. As a result, the number of degrees of freedom of the conditional branch operation is increased, and the microprogram capacity is reduced, so that control performance can be improved.
