Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the comfortable feeling by determining the suitable reducing speed on a train, based on the actual speed, when the train has reached a position where the ATC-limiting speed begins to decrease, and the preceding speed and executing the speed reduction.
CONSTITUTION: Limiting speeds S60, S30 and S60 are provided between the dividing points A, B, C and D for ground blocking signals of the ATC for a railroad. Limiting speeds V60, V30, V60 are provided by ATC signals. SPeed-distance characteristics for each blocking sections are indicated by a broken line in the Figure. V1 is the actrual speed at the point B where the ATC signal becomes low, and βATC is the reducing speed of the ATC. Then, specified logic determination is made by the ATO system on the train, and the speed is reduced so that the ATC-limiting speed is not violated and the large speed reducing is not accompanied as shwon by a solid line. In this way, ATO operation can be performed without imparing the comfortable feeling and without reducing the speed below a table- specified speed.
