Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform diffusion welding of low cost and high quality by setting the pressure lap amount of the time of heating large-size members in a vacuum atmosphere in a retort, subsequently feeding these, split-pressing them and duffusion-welding them, at the specific conditions.
CONSTITUTION: Large-size welding members 1.2, 2.1,... are installed on the pressure receiving body buried with heaters 7 placed on a pressure receiving table 10 by way of rigid heat-resistant steel insert plates 17 and release agents 4. Next, the release agents 4 and plate 17 are further placed on the uppermost large-size welding member and a pressure body connected to a pressure rod 9 is disposed thereon. Next, the inside of a strip-form retort 5' is evacuated and the welding materials are heated 7. The welding materials are then pressed for a fixed time and are diffusion- welded from one end by a rod 9. Next, the rod 9 is lapped by the size L and the next pressing is done. Thus the diffusion welding is performed through subsequent split pressing. In this case, the diffusion welding is performed by setting the lap amount L at the values respectively obtained by formula I when the welding position is on the side closer to the rod side than the position of 1/2 of the total thickness H including this and by formula II when it is at the place apart from the pressure rod than 1/2 of the total thickness H with respect to the overlapped total thickness H of the welding materials and the pressure rod width A.
