Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A reaction product of an insulin secretion stimulating substance, isolated from cultures of microorganisms belonging to the genus Bordetella, with an amidination agent of the formula (R1 is H, 1W4C alkyl group, etc.; R2 is 1W4C alkyl group).
USE: Remedies and preventives for diabetes, with little side effects, e.g. leucocytosis actions.
PROCESS: An insulin secretion stimulating substance (1AP), isolated from cultures of microorganisms belonging to the genus Bordetella, and an amidination agent, e.g. ethyl acetimidate hydrochloride, of the formula are dissolved in a 1M carbonic acid buffer containing 1M of urea and reacted at room temperature for 20min. The reaction product is purified by gel filtration to form the objective compound.
