Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a good quality image in an electrophotography copier, image development is made in two step magnetic brush operation, a first one with a bias voltage larger than a proper value and a second one with the proper bias voltage, thus reducing static leakage at these development.
CONSTITUTION: The developing area 6 contains a first and a second magnetic brushes 11, 12, both located close to the photosensitizer drum 1. The first and second magnetic brushes 11, 12 are each fed with bias voltage V1 and V2 from the supplies 16, 17 and 16 respectively. The voltage V1 is made higher than a normally proper development voltage and V2 is the proper one. Development is performed by intially the first brush operation followed by the second one, whereby the static latent image is prevented from leakage and developed into a high concentration image.
