Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to connect the closed loop servo-system high-speed head driving unit to the interface for upper rank devices of a system where movement information is sent with the number of pulses, by starting movement of the magnetic head after storing movement information.
CONSTITUTION: Magnetic head movement direction indication signal A from disc control unit 10 is applied to movement mode instruction circuit 1, and movement information pulses B whose number corresponds to the number of tracks for movement are counted by register 2 and are stored. Completion of this storage is detected in circuit 1 by applied signal B, and after storage completion, movement mode signal D and movement start signal C are generated from circuit 1 to perform high-speed head driving of the closed loop servo-system dependent upon position signal detection circuit 9, movement profile set circuit 5, a register, magnetic head driving control circuit 3, magnetic head driving mechanism 4, servo head 8, etc., and thus, the closed loop servo-system high-speed head driving unit can be connected to the interface for upper rank devices of a system where movement information making stepping motor-system low-speed driving possible is sent with pulses.
