Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the accurate bending of a steel plate even if the height of a lower die and the thickness of the steel plate vary by providing a light beam gauge to the body side of the bending machine provided with the vertically moving upper and lower dies thereby projecting the steel plate bending center part by the light beam gauge.
CONSTITUTION: A detention material 10 is secured at its bottom end to the one side part of the front base 4 of the body 3 of the bending machine 1. A light beam gauge 11 is mounted to the upper part of the detention material 10 to constitute a position- aligning device 9. The light beam gauge 11, positioned slightly above a lower die 5 and on the bending centerline of the bending machine 1, projects light to the steel plate 2 from diagonally above. The light cast by the light beam gauge spreads in perpendicular face form and sector-form and projects the bending center of the bending machine, i.e., the portion where the bottom end of the upper die 8 contacts the steel plate 2. Hence, if the steel plate 2 is so placed on the lower die 5 that its scribe line X aligns to the light cast by the light beam gauge followed by lowering the upper die 8, then the steel plate 2 is accurately bent.
