Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Δ4,5-Galacturonides of formula I (R1 is H, methyl, or metal ion as Na or K; R2 is 1W8C saturated or unsaturated alkyl, aryl; A is O or S) or their methyl ester.
EXAMPLE: Methyl ester of ethyl-α-D-Δ4,5-thiogalacturonide.
USE: Antibactericidal agents for agriculture, floroculture and presevation of timber, they readily are absorbed and remains in plants without decomposition for long periods of time to show antipectinase activity and prevent the action of pectinase in bacteria.
PREPARATION: In accordance with reaction equations, compounds of formula II and III and their metal salts are prepared.
