Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide Zn alloy coated steel sheet of uniform quality, having high corrosion resistance, by forming a Ni and/or Co layer on the steel sheet, by heating the coated sheet to form a diffused layer of these metals, then by coating the diffused layer with Zn, and by heating the coated sheet. CONSTITUTION:Steel sheet is electroplated or metallized with Ni and/or Co to form a coating layer thereupon, then heated in a nonoxidizing atmosphere at a temp. 500-800 deg.C to form a diffused layer of Ni and/or Co on the steel. The steel sheet is coated with Zn by a similar way on the above described diffused layer, and is heated in a nonoxidizing atmosphere at a temp. from the m.p. of Zn -650 deg.C to form alloy layers Zn-Ni-Fe, Zn-Co-Fe, or Zn-Ni-Co-Fe. The adhered quantity of Ni and/or Co is 5-60%, pref., 15-30% the total adhered quantity, and the total adhered quantity of Zn is 1-100g/m<2>, pref., 5-40g/m<2>.
