Abstract
PURPOSE: To secure the display via 4 segments through the decoder which displays figure "7" in 3 segments by installing a simple additional circuit to the decoder.
CONSTITUTION: The input binary code of 4 bits is supplied to input terminal 1 and then connected to input ABCD of decoder 2, and 7 units of output aWg of decoder 2 are led to output terminal 3. Only in case signal c of terminal 1 is "1" and signal D is "0", output "1" emerges at AND circuit 5. In this case, signal f of terminal 3 is set to "1" regardless of the output value of decoder 2. In other words, the figure pattern emerging at terminal 3 of the decoder circuit is displayed in 4 semgents although decoder 2 displays figure "7" in 3 segments.
