Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare an original lithographic printing plate not requiring wetting water, by applying high voltage imagewise selectively to the surface of a layer containing a silicon resin.
CONSTITUTION: On a layer containing a silicone resin (e.g., a hardenable silicone resin, a solvent soluble silicone resin, or the like) an imagewise selective cover is formed, then 2W6kV high voltage is applied, and the ink affinity of the noncovered part is enhanced to obtain an original printing plate. For example, toner image 2 is formed on photosensitive drum 1 by the usual electrophotographic process, silicone resin layer 3 with its surface charged to a polarity reverse to that of image 2 with corona charger 4 is passed between drum 1 and transfer drum 5 to transfer image 2 on layer 3, and a fixed image 6 is formed by heat fixing the transfer image with roller 7. Fixed image 6 is removed by applying high voltage to layer 3 with roller electrode 8 placed on conductive support and treating image 6 with a solvent.
