Abstract

PURPOSE:To make reproduction possible even in fast winding and rewinding modes by driving a magnetic tape run capstan forward and backward at a high constant speed by a phase comparison based upon a reproduced control signal and reference signal. CONSTITUTION:A frequency signal outputted by generator 25 coaxial with capstan motor 13 and a vertical synchronizing signal separated from this frequency signal by a separating circuit are phase-compared and the output is fed back by way of sample holding circuit 44, phase compensating circuit 45, monostable multivibrator 30, and sample holding circuit 29 to control motor 13 for constant-speed rotation, thereby bringing recording on the magnetic tape to effect. In reproduction mode, motor 13 turns at the same constant speed as in recording similarly by the phase comparison between a reproduced control signal from head 7 and a reference signal from reference signal generator 41, and the output of generator 25. In either fast winding or rewinding mode, the reproduced control signal and the reference signal of a high frequency outputted by oscillator 41 and divider 47 are phase-compared to make motor 13 turn at the high and constant speed in a required direction. Therefore, there is no need for image reproduction in fast winding and rewinding modes.
