Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the cost by constituting a circuit so as to decrease capacity of a static frequency converter.
CONSTITUTION: The maximum speed operation due to direct feed from a power system 5 and the intermediate speed operation due to indirect feed through a static power converter 4 are conducted selecively. When operation moves from the intermediate speed to the maximum speed, frequency only is let to increase limiting the magnitude of the output voltage of the static power converter to a smaller value than the voltage of the power source system, and when a motor reaches a maximum speed level the motor is cut out of the static power converter and connects with the power source system. By such constitution the capacity of the static power converter can be reduced and therefore the device cost also can be decreased remarkably.
