Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the cable which is suited for wiring along the columns and walls in a house by depositing tape-form elastic material continuously or intermittently on the optical fiber cord in its lengthwise direction.
CONSTITUTION: Tape-form elastic material 7 is deposited on an optical fiber cord 4 comprising providing high tensile fibers 2 around an optical fiber core 1 in its lengthwise direction and providing sheath thereon. The elastic material 7 is opened periodically with holes 8 in its lengthwise direction on both the sides of the optical cord 4. By fastening the elastic body 7 to a column or wall, the entire part of the cord may be fastened. If clasps 9 are inserted into the holes 8 and are driven to a column 6, the cord 4 may be fastened sufficiently strongly to the column without giving any force at all, hence without degrading its transmission characteristics. In this way, the optical cord which has good flexibility and sufficient strength and is suited for in-house wiring is obtained.
