Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of camber due to difference of mill stiffnesses on both sides, and to prevent the trouble in feeding the sheet, the damage of apparatus, and the damage of apparatus, and the decline of working rate, by installing the automatic thickness control system in each side of the rolling mill, by setting the coefficient of mill stiffness, and also, by setting the aim delivery thickness common to both control systems.
CONSTITUTION: The AGC systems 11D, 11W, are arranged in each of the work side and the drive side of the rolling mill, and the coefficients of the mill stiffnesses MD, MW, being actually measured for each side are set in their AGC circuits. Besides, the aim delivery thickness common to both sides is set in the AGC circuits, which are actuated by the rolling load signals FD, FW, sent from the load cells 3D, 3W, on each side, and give the roll gap correction command signals ΔSD, ΔSW, respectively to each of roll gap control systems 14D, 14W, on each side. Accordingly, despite a difference of mill stiffnesses between both sides, both sides can roll the material automatically into the same aim thickness without forming the wedge, so that the damage of the rolling apparatus can be prevented and the decline of the working rate is also prevented.
