Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise a fuel suck-out effect in the high load run of an engine and make its air fuel ratio appropriate, by providing the variable venturi member of a variable-venturi carburetor with a projection in front of a fuel injection port.
CONSTITUTION: The rotary variable venturi member 3 is provided in the venturi section 8 of the carburetor 1 and supported by a shaft 4. A venturi passage 6 is provided on the central part of the venturi member 3. The projection 10 having flange portions 11 is provided in the center of the venturi passage 6 so that the projection is located in front of the fuel injection port 5 opened through the venturi section 8. In the high load run of the engine, the quantity of sucked-out fuel is increased by raising the velocity of air flowing between the projection 10 and the injection port 5.
